The spinal cord in the neck may become pinched as a result ofcervical spinal stenosis.
The resulting symptoms (heavy feeling in the legs, a slow gait, deterioration in fine motor skills, shooting, electrical- like pain in the arms and legs, and arm pain) may be relieved by a procedure called a cervical laminectomy, which reduces the pressure on the spinal cord.
